IMPACTFUL DVBS 2026
69, 939 children attended Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) from 10–14 August 2026, in all CITAM assemblies nationwide. The DVBS whose theme was, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” from Genesis 18:14, had 23,130 children who surrended their lives to Christ. The week’s memory work centered on Psalm 146. They combined biblical teachings with warm, child‑centered care which left a visible mark on children, families, and volunteers alike. 5,595 children workers were involved.
It was especially gratifying to see months of careful planning come to fruition and to note the week’s success across all CITAM assemblies nationwide, including the thoughtful accommodations that enabled children living with disabilities to participate seamlessly.
Each day began with a lively parade in which children pledged allegiance to the Bible, sang together, and learnt a few memory verses. By Day 5 the whole of Psalm 146 had been memorized. After the parade, children moved to age‑grouped classes (3–14 years) for personalized lessons and hands‑on activities. Tea and snacks were then taken, followed by games, art, short films, and puppetry for the youngest groups, lastly was a brief chapel gathering and dismissal.
The lessons were taught using child-friendly language and brought to life with hands‑on activities made to capture their hearts and stick to young minds. The topics discussed during the week were: God the Creator, The Lord is My Provider, The Lord is My Protector, Lord is My Restorer and Is Anything Too Hard for the Lord? Teaching relied on catchy songs and dances, visual aids and skits which ensured sessions were fun, attention‑grabbing, and memorable.
Learning Psalm 146 as a song ensured the verses were both memorable and joyful. Puppetry and the films brought Bible stories to life; art and craft projects gave children a creative outlet for what they had learned; games reinforced the importance of physical activity; and shared snack times fostered fellowship among the children. Across the assemblies visited, the helpers maintained consistent routines ensuring each child left every session with a takeaway.
Thoughtful arrangements made the week accessible: free transport was provided by each assembly, trained helpers ensured safety, and the teachers received prior briefings. The partnership between parents, helpers, and the church created an orderly and welcoming environment for everyone.
The atmosphere throughout the DVBS Week was one of belonging. Many children made decisions to follow Christ during the week. Each individual left encouraged and better equipped with the word. A guard observed, “Hearing the children sing together reminded me that God’s care is both personal and powerful.”
DVBS Week 2026 planted seeds through song, story, and service. As the children return to their respective homes and schools, those seeds will continue to grow. The Missions and Children’s Ministry teams extend sincere thanks to every volunteer, parent, and assembly that made the week possible.
